Wendy Bevan is a British photographer working between London and Los Angeles. Since 2006, her work with Polaroid has explored light, femininity, and a subtle theatricality, capturing fleeting, intimate moments with quiet intensity. Her practice embraces the unpredictability of analogue processes, allowing light, atmosphere, and instinct to shape each image. The resulting photographs occupy a space between portraiture and cinematic narrative; luminous, delicate, and timeless.

Working at the intersection of image, performance, and atmosphere, Bevan moves fluidly between fashion, portraiture, and landscape, dissolving boundaries into a singular visual language. Her photographs feel cinematic, like fragments of a story just out of reach. Figures appear as both presence and projection composed, elusive, and in flux while clothing becomes an extension of mood rather than statement, and identity remains suggested, never fixed.

Embracing softness, grain, and imperfection, her analogue process shapes the emotional register of each image, allowing ambiguity to surface and clarity to recede. This marks the first time her landscape work, largely unseen until now, has been brought into direct dialogue with her established practice. Here, the human presence fades, but its trace remains: shorelines, open spaces, and shifting light become psychological terrains, charged with a quiet, suspended tension.

Alongside her personal work, Bevan undertakes commissioned projects across fashion, music, and the arts. She collaborates closely with clients to create distinctive imagery for campaigns, editorials, album artwork, and visual storytelling, bringing a strong, recognisable aesthetic to each project.

Across all of her work, boundaries blur between subject and setting, control and chance, reality and dream, leaving a distilled focus on mood, transformation, and the unstable nature of presence itself. These are not images that resolve, but ones that linger, inviting a slower gaze where meaning is felt as much as it is seen.
